Tuesday of spring break I learned late in the day that it was Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry's. Ethan was working late and we were not doing anything so I decided yes, lets have ice cream for dinner. We drove to Branford, CT which is about 30 miles away to a Ben and Jerry's that was participating in Free Cone Day. It was a nice day/evening and the line moved better than expected. The girls definitely enjoyed their ice cream, and I enjoyed being able to see another town plus the ice cream.

Spring Break Fun
The girls had spring break in April. Around here they like to call it "April Vacation". Either way it was a break from school. The girls and I enjoyed a few days of adventure together, a couple days at home and then we finished out the week with a trip to the Great Wolf Lodge in Massachusetts with Daddy in tow (thank goodness!)
We started our week with a trip to the Providence Roger Williams Zoo. We had a beautiful day for a trip to the zoo and greatly enjoyed ourselves. Within the zoo there is a great tree house and exploration areas for kids separate from the animal as well as a farm area where you could brush the goats fur, practice milking a cow, pose for a picture with a tractor, and count the chickens eggs among other things. After the zoo we found a carousel and a Hasbro sponsored playground within the park grounds. It's a really neat area. Cora loved watching the elephants - they were active, eating, and great to watch. The red panda habitat at this zoo we thought was fantastic and we were able to see one of the red pandas being active as well. There were zebras, camels, giant anteaters, laughing kookaburra, and many others.

O'Niantic 5K
Back in March, yes I said March. I know but I just have to post these photos because I was so proud of all three girls. Each of them ran part for the kids run as part of the O'Niantic 5K. Cora ran a 1/4 mile and loved it! The smile on her face was priceless. Emma ran a mile and did great. Katherine ran a 1/2 mile and though she wanted me to be with her - she took off and I followed behind with Cora in the stroller - but she really didn't need me. She did great by herself. I ran the 5K, and actually won the Athena division (I was probably the only one signed up for it).

March Madness = Wisconsin Pride
End of March beginning of April was pretty exciting for us with the Wisconsin Badgers in the NCAA March Madness Tournament. We always proudly support our Wisconsin Red but during this time it was super hyped. We wished we had more people to celebrate with and we wish there had been a different outcome that Monday night in April but we are still very proud and forever will be Wisconsin Badger fans. It was especially neat to watch a young man from my hometown of Sheboygan, WI, rise to the stardom that he has - Sam Dekker. His Dad was a middle school teacher at my school during my middle school years. Here are some photos of the different days that we all wore red.
